Choosing our friends wisely
16 Apr 2009
This latest report to have been released by the Right Wing think-tank Policy Exchange attempts to underline the fact the government spending via the the PVE Funding scheme has not only failed to deter the rise of 'non-violent' extremism in the UK, but also has trickled down to organisations who themselves are 'extreme' in their views. This paper attempts to highlight that the current government policy is failing to stem the tide of extremism in the UK, and presents a very intolerant criteria for engagement with the Muslim community.
Shiraz Maher, one of the co-writers of the report, infamously defended Israels' reckless assault in the Gaza Strip in 2008/2009.
